Schoolkids in Birmingham are going to be shown drug dealers’ luxury cars getting crushed.
Police are taking a mobile car crusher to Bordesley Green on Friday to show that crime doesn’t pay.
Officers are hoping it will stop youngsters growing-up thinking they can make a good living from becoming a career criminal.
The car crusher has the ability to lift a vehicle into its machinery before compacting it down into a three foot square cube in less than three minutes.
DCI Nick Walton, crime manager for Birmingham East, spoke to Free Radio:
“We hope this car crushing demonstration will show young people that drug dealing does not pay. No-one should benefit financially from being involved in criminal activity.
We will actively pursue anyone who we believe is benefitting financially from the harm they are causing to our communities.”
