A man’s appeared in court charged with attempted murder

A man’s appeared before Redditch Magistrates charged with attempted murder following a firearms incident in the town at the weekend.

The 27 year old Redditch man was arrested on Sunday evening (8 July) in connection with an incident near the Matalan store in Nailsworth Road at just before 11.50am on Saturday (7 July) which resulted in another man being taken to hospital with gunshot wounds.

Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Tonks of West Mercia Police, said: “I would like to thank those who have helped our investigation so far and also remind people that anyone who believes they may still have information about this incident can contact us at Redditch CID on 0300 333 3000. If people saw or know anything then I would urge them to do so.”
