Australia’s Olympic judo team are all in training in Walsall.
The last of the team flew in this week to their training base at the University of Wolverhampton’s Walsall campus.
They’re using the sports centre and the judo team there to prepare for the games, which start in just over week.
Head Coach Stewart Brain has enjoyed his time there so much he’s thinking about using Walsall as a base for them after the Olympics, “Australia is going to need a camp over the next two years, I’m fairly sure it’ll be Walsall we come to.”
This weekend they’ll be shown around the sites of the Black Country including museums, the Molineux and greyhound racing.
