Worcester Warriors have confirmed that one of their players has been arrested.
It’s after a woman was punched in the face at a taxi rank in the City.
It’s alleged that she suffered a broken nose on The Cross at around 4am on Sunday.
A police spokesman said, “Officers attended the incident and a man in his 20s was arrested for ABH, questioned and released later on Sunday pending further inquiries.”
The club have confirmed the arrest: “Officials at Worcester Warriors have met with the player in relation to an alleged incident in the city centre on Sunday morning.
“The player has co-operated fully with police enquiries and the club remains supportive of him.”
