Important Information

Check in opens at 8.30am on Sunday 1st July at the Three Counties Showground and the Walk will start at 10am.

REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR WALKER BIB AND UNIQUE BARCODE NUMBER

There will be a staggered start due to the number of people taking part, so please be patient with us if we ask you to wait a few minutes for your start time.

If you have requested transport to the Three Counties Showground before the event, please arrive at Worcester Racecourse at 8am to get the bus – there is sufficient parking at the Racecourse. There is also plenty of parking at the Three Counties Showground if you wish to go direct. If you have requested transport back to the Three Counties Showground after the Walk, buses will be departing the Racecourse between 1 – 4pm. Please leave animals at home.

There’ll be signs along the whole route. Please take notice of them – otherwise you may walk down the wrong roads.

Remember you are walking on pavements and crossing normal roads, so take the sensible road safety precautions you normally would.

Obey the road signs and use official crossings wherever you can. If one of the official marshals gives an instruction, please take notice. Please note the marshals are only there to give directions – they won’t be stopping traffic, so please stop, look and listen as you normally would do at road crossings.

St John Ambulance will be on hand throughout the day. Please wear appropriate and sensible clothing and footwear, sports trainers or walking boots are best. Fancy dress is encouraged but please make sure that your vision isn’t impaired. Remember to take your inhaler if you suffer from asthma, or indeed any medication you need. If you feel unwell on the day, ask yourself whether you should really be taking part. Pack suncream and waterproofs too as you never know what the weather might do.

Take some water to make sure you don’t get dehydrated.

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or chaperone.  The event is a 10.5 mile walk so is not advisable for small children and we would discourage pushchairs as there will be lots of people walking and they do clog up the pavements.

Please leave your animals at home! Charge your mobile phone – and take it with you just in case. There will be various pitstops (see the map) and shops along the route where you can stop to use the toilet or buy refreshments.

Say hello to our presenters when you see them and get your photo taken by the Street Stars with your medal so you can go in our online photo gallery at freeradio.co.uk!
